"SW Community Health Center is a blessing for me. Without the clinic, I don't know if I'd still be around. I have diabetes, am self-employed, uninsured - and things have been very tough financially. I used to be on oral medication but it stopped working so the doctors at the clinic switched me to insulin. They provided me with education, taught me to eat healthier and pushed me in the right direction. The people at the clinic are always welcoming, the nurse is compassionate and people care about me. My health has improved and I only need appointments every three months now."

"Having a strong family history of colon cancer and being long overdue for a colonoscopy, but without medical insurance, I never thought I'd be able to get one. But as a patient of SW Community Health Center, the doctors and staff at the clinic, through Project Access, arranged for a colonoscopy for me at no cost whatsoever. Moreover, the SWCHC staff, the hospital staff and the doctor performing the procedure couldn't have been nicer. I was treated as though I was a wealthy person with the best insurance money could buy, rather than as a "charity case". Because of the kindness and caring of all these people, my precancerous polyps were removed which, without this procedure, could have easily become malignant and fatal.
