SW Community Health Center is a safety-net-clinic providing basic health care to low-income uninsured individuals.
SWCHC has begun offering additional hours every Thursday from 5:30pm-8:30pm in July 2015. Services include primary care, preventive visits, chronic disease management as well as acute/urgent care. Immunizations Clinics for children will begin in August 2015 and operate every 2nd and 4th Wednesday 3pm-6pm on a walk-in basis in addition to scheduled appointments. Following the implementation of Affordable Care Act (ACA) there will be a large segment of the population that remains uninsured including “working poor” who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but too little to sustain insurance payments, and individuals ineligible due to citizenship status. According to a report by Oregon Health Authority published September 2014, Oregon’s population of uninsured numbers approximately 201,000 individuals.
